This five mile sandy beach offers flat sailing conditions in NW or NE winds and a fairly big tidal range. Although not a wave beach, Pendine Sands can offer large swells and wind generated chop that is considerable at times. Access to a large part of the beach is restricted during the week because the Ministry of Defence use the area for target practice, so it is best to wait till the weekend.
